Kampaeng Saen Veterinary Diagnostic Center
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, is part of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University. The University has adopted a policy to expand education beyond the urban area, providing space for crop and pasture experiments as well as livestock studies — in alignment with its mission as an agricultural university.
As part of this policy, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was designated as one of the faculties to establish teaching and learning facilities at Kamphaeng Saen Campus. Initially, fifth- and sixth-year veterinary students were relocated to this campus to enhance their comprehensive knowledge in the field of animal husbandry. Since then, continuous development has taken place up to the present day.
To ensure the completeness of veterinary education and provide academic services to farmers — most of whom are engaged in livestock production — the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine established a laboratory for animal disease diagnosis. This laboratory became the foundation of what is now known as the Kamphaeng Saen Veterinary Diagnostic Center (KVDC).
The history and development of the center are as follows:
November 8, 1979
Fifth- and sixth-year veterinary students were transferred to study at Kamphaeng Saen, and the Kamphaeng Saen Animal Hospital began operations.
June 6, 1981
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine officially announced the establishment of the Kamphaeng Saen Veterinary Diagnostic Unit as an internal unit within the Faculty at Kamphaeng Saen Campus. A working committee for the diagnostic unit was also appointed from that time onward, with the office and laboratory facilities distributed within the Preclinical Building.
October 18, 2011
The Kasetsart University Council announced approval for the restructuring of internal administrative divisions within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Under this restructuring, the Veterinary Research and Academic Services Center, Kasetsart University Animal Hospital, Bangkhen, Kasetsart University Animal Hospital, Kamphaeng Saen, Kasetsart University Animal Hospital, Nong Pho, and Kasetsart University Animal Hospital, Hua Hin were granted a status equivalent to that of academic departments.

Announcement of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine regarding the internal organizational restructuring: the Bangkok Veterinary Diagnostic Unit and the Kamphaeng Saen Veterinary Diagnostic Unit were placed under the Veterinary Research and Academic Services Center of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University.

The Kamphaeng Saen Veterinary Diagnostic Unit relocated its office and laboratories to the Veterinary Teaching and Laboratory Building (Building A).
March 27, 2023
Kasetsart University announced approval for the internal restructuring of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the establishment of Kasetsart University Animal Hospital at Thippapiman. Under this restructuring, the Kamphaeng Saen Veterinary Diagnostic Unit was upgraded to the Kamphaeng Saen Veterinary Diagnostic Center with a status equivalent to that of an academic department.
